So why are we making our own Portfolios? I'm so glad you asked! We will be creating student portfolios for a few reasons:

- to foster reflective practice and a growth mindset
- to showcase our best work on student designed and classroom projects throughout the year.
- to share our reflective practice and progress throughout the year with friends and family (and me! of course) :-)
You may be concerned that you don't know the first thing about how to create any kind of portfolio, or maybe you have created similar projects in other classes. In any case, no matter what your experience is, do not worry. We will do this together over the course of the year. You do not have to share your portfolio with anyone other than me and your parents or guardians.

- Introduction
This is where you can record yourself singing a song, write about yourself and let us know more about who you are. Over the first few weeks of the year we will work together to create our own introductions, but you can keep adding to it. Another way of looking at these Introductions are as a way of showcasing the awesome person that you are! Do not panic, as always, I am here to help you!

- Practice
This is where we will begin to record our daily thinking and notes about lessons, You should plan to write down a few sentences ( at least 2) every day. This can be an 'Aha' moment, something you are still feeling unsure about from the lesson, or something else. Once again, do not panic, we will make time at the end of class to record these reflections, and as always, we are in this together!

- Progress
This is where you have the option to reflect on an assessment that we have taken in class and to retake that assessment for a higher grade. We will discuss this in more detail as we get closer to the Unit 1 Test.

This is where you will work individually and collaboratively to design and complete projects based on your own interests, concerns and ideas! Don't panic... Are you sensing a pattern here? We're in this together and we will work through the different projects possibilities as we get going this year!
